Boys in snow

Thanks to Grandma & Grandpa, we were able to head up to the snow again this year. We stayed at an amazing house & got to ski two days each. Every time I get back on those skis I remember what it feels like to be alive. Something about the biting wind & burning leg muscles is such a wonderful re-charge to all of my senses. (Must be something about waking up the Alaskan in me!)

Our little Quinn, however, is a California boy at heart. Not a big fan of the cold, to say the least!

Grandma is ready for anything in her new ski helmet...

Until next year...

Remy turns TWO!

We had a little cupcake party for our big little guy. Friends & family & lots of sugary treats... can't go wrong with that combo!

Noni & Poppi got him his first scooter. He loves trying to ride it on his own... we have had to hide it from him in the house!

With Grandma...

He loved all of his birthday cards... kept them around for weeks to "read"...

Zoo day!

We had not yet taken the boys to the zoo... the only animals they had ever seen in person were your standard dog, cat, bird type. So, on the first sunny day before William started working his latest job we packed up our monkeys & took them to the zoo.

It was such a thrill to see their little faces when they saw the real live animals in front of them. We started with giraffes...

Then a beeline directly to Remy's favorite, the elephants...

Seriously, I think he could have stayed there watching them all day.

So we sat & had our snacks & watched the elephants.

My monkey boys...

We eventually made it to the petting zoo area. Remy wanted nothing to do with any of the farm animals. Quinn was very brave.

They were both fascinated by the big turtles...

Tired, happy boy.

I have a feeling we will be back to visit the elephants again very soon.
